Big Rock run outdoor climbing courses for all ages in conjunction with our sister climbing wall Beacon Climbing Centre in North Wales, located near Llanberis and the Snowdonia National Park.
Offering a spectacular array of top quality outdoor climbing from the mountain routes in the Ogwen Valley and the Llanberis Pass to adventurous sea cliff climbing on Gogarth and the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales has a special place in the hearts of all rock climbers and the progress of British climbing can be charted historically in its mountains and cliffs. Quite simply, as a rock climbing area North Wales has it all, and is a perfect destination to begin or advance your rock climbing career.
Whether you have never climbed outdoors before and are looking to convert your indoor skills to outdoor climbing, learn to 'trad' lead or gain skills for tackling multi-pitch climbs, Beacon Climbing Centre offers a comprehensive range of 'Real Rock' climbing course to suit all abilities and requirements. Our qualified and experienced instructors have a wealth of local knowledge to ensure you make the most out of North Wales' fantastic variety of outdoor climbing. Courses are run on demand, any day of the week, and have the flexibility to ensure they are just what you want.

Schools and Groups
Beacon Climbing Centre also offer half and full day outdoor climbing sessions for schools and groups. These sessions give participants the opportunity to venture out on to the superb crags of North Wales and get a real taste of the adventure and excitement of outdoor climbing. A variety of venues are used and groups are sure to have a great day out in spectacular surroundings. Beacon outdoor climbing sessions are flexible to suit individual requirements: choose from single pitch climbing or abseiling on the cliffs of Snowdonia, or mix and match with a climbing wall session.

Instructor Courses
Beacon Climbing Centre also runs Climbing Wall Award (CWA), Climbing Wall Leading Award (CWLA), Single Pitch Award (SPA). The CWA, CWLA and SPA are National Governing Body (NGB) award courses suitable for anyone wanting to supervise or instruct groups in indoor or outdoor climbing.
