Youth Development Scheme

The Big Rock Youth Development Scheme aims to encourage the progression of talented young climbers at Big Rock Climbing Centre.

Participation in the scheme gives 15 enthusiastic youngsters the framework and expertise to develop their overall climbing abilities, with group coaching session that focus on improving climbing skills, techniques and knowledge.

The youth development scheme aims to enthuse, motivate and improve performance through the introduction of new aspects of climbing such as competition preparation and performance, lead climbing and rock climbing outdoors. Members will also have the opportunity to travel to both local and national competition climbing events as part of the Big Rock Youth Squad.

When

The Big Rock Youth Squad meets every Monday evening between 6:30pm and 8:30pm for training and coaching.

Special Big Rock Youth Squad T-shirts are supplied free of charge and personalised Big Rock Hoodies are available to order.

Price

Participation in the scheme costs £12.50 for each weekly two hour session and is payable in 4 weekly blocks.

Youth Squad members received discounted entry rates during regular climbing sessions and special offers from the Big Rock climbing equipment shop.
