Kids' Climbing Area

Kids love to climb stuff and now Big Rock Climbing Centre has its very own dedicated kids' bouldering area, providing a fun activity area that aims to encourage and inspire kids' enthusiasm for climbing and help them extend their boundaries.

Our kids' climbing area features 3 exciting low level climbing apparatus surrounded by impact absorbing rubber crumb playground matting and does not require the use of specialist equipment or training, although parental (or an appropriate adult) supervision is required. Climb onto Tommy the Elephant, traverse the Tiger Wall and climb up and around the free standing boulder!

Climbing is a really fun way to encourage physical activity for young children and helps to develop movement, balance, hand eye co-ordination and communication skills in a really fun environment. It also provides a creative problem solving exercise that offers young children exciting mental challenges, with a great sense of accomplishment that can be hugely beneficial towards increasing confidence and self esteem.

When you’re only three feet tall, climbing onto Tommy the Elephant will just about be the most exciting thing ever (apart from Christmas…).

Climbing sessions within the kids' area cost £2.50 and children must be less than age 6 to use the apparatus. No previous climbing experience is required.
